Patagonia grew out of a small company that made tools for climbers. Alpinism remains at the heart of a worldwide business that still makes clothes for climbing – as well as for skiing, snowboarding, surfing, fly fishing, paddling and trail running. They donate their time, services, and at least 1% of their sales to hundreds of environmental groups all over the world.Their focus on making the best products possible has brought them success in the marketplace.
Why We Like Patagonia:
All Patagonia products are bombproof; so pick a color you like as you will have it for a very long time. They have an ironclad guarantee: If you are not satisfied with one of our products at the time you receive it, or if one of our products does not perform to your satisfaction, you may return it to us for a repair, replacement or refund. Damage due to wear and tear will be repaired at a reasonable charge. Any company willing to stand by its product until the end of time has our vote.
Patagonia products are also produced to very high environmental standards. All their cotton products are certified organic, and have been since 1996- which way ahead of the curve. They also have active upcycle policies, touting the "reduce, repair, reuse, recycle" philosophy, and are among the most active companies in terms of conservation efforts.
Patagonia co-founded 1% for the Planet; each year they donate 1% of total profits towards conservation efforts. They also co-founded the Conservation Alliance with outdoor giants such as REI, Kelty, and the North Face; this alliance helps fund local conservation efforts throughout the world.
